Guard of honour and singers pay tribute to The King on his jubilee day

As part of the jubilee celebrations on 15 September, the Royal Family attended the changing of the guard in the Outer Courtyard of the Royal Palace and a subsequent choral tribute.

Changing of the guard

The ceremony began at 12:00 with a gun salute from Skeppsholmen, fired by the Stockholm Amphibious Regiment.

The Navy Music Corps.

The King, together with Prince Carl Philip, then attended the changing of the guard when the Life Guards Squadron relieved the Life Company. The Army Music Corps, the Life Guards' Dragoon Music Corps and the Navy Music Corps performed a concert during the ceremony.

Choral tribute

From the Royal Palace's balcony facing the Outer Courtyard, The King listened to a choral tribute from around 130 choristers from Boden Music Classes, Västerås Boys' Choir, Lars-Erik Larsson Upper Secondary School, Linköping Music Classes and the Swedish Radio Choir, conducted by Christina Hörnell.

The rest of the Royal Family also listened from the balcony, together with their Nordic guests.

The choral tribute began with The King's Song, after which the choirs performed songs including the première of Buller och Bång by Benny Andersson, Vi Är Blommor by Georg Riedel and Wedding March by August Söderman.
